hard to believe monday i got back from LA
this week has been and endless pile of things to do related to moving. Packing hell, which aptly describes my apartment right now. going to get the truck at 8 and then the mac will go into the car at 10. empty linda's place first and then mine and then we clean. ugh. today and tomorrow (my bday) are going to be exhausting but very satisfying. i am looking forward to moving home.

thank god for friends to help with the burden of these life changing moments.

Also....

yesterday was the 100 year anniversary of my maternal great grandfather, Joannis Arghianas arrival in the United States through Ellis Island. At 20 years old he left Meligala, Greece because he didn't want to go into the seminary which is older sisters were pushing him towards. I recently visited his gravesite in Vancouver, Washington as well as the cabin in lewisville park that he and his family lived in and maintained during WWII.
50 new crickets for the spiders. they are getting fat.
heading down to LA today to see brandito and kiwi. very exciting. i have packed a wonderful picnic for the train. westphalian ham from the german store, jordanian almonds from the middle eastern grocery, boysenberry soda from natures. and a pile of books. i am looking forward to the new Murakami Sputnick Sweetheart. Bliss, as long as there are no irritating talkers on the ride. Duck knows that something is up and that i am leaving again. she knows what it means when the green duffel bag comes out. I can't wait to get to seattle to have things settle down a bit, as if they will.

The new pad... I will post pictures next week sometime. It is a two bedroom townhouse, all vertical. First floor has a study/bedroom and a 3/4 bath, up some stairs to the living room/kitchen with laundry facilities (YES YES YES) and a nice fireplace, then up more stairs to the master bedroom, full bath and view of the sound and the olympics. the master bedroom has vaulted cielings and is swanky. My only small worry is that the kitchen is too small, but i will deal...

i think i am going to go crawl back in bed and get some kitty love.

over and out.

our friend amy passed the bar yesterday...which led to some inspired drinking and a delicious dinner at pambiche.

i am never touching booze again.

good news. linda and i found a place in west seattle. we will be moving up at the end of the month. it is only a block from chris and toni and dylan, which will be really nice. i am looking forward to moving home.
