great dinner last night at tommy's with Linda, Joe, Tara and Chris Kline. couple beers at the Zoo afterwards. wish i could drink beer it makes me sleepy and bloated. wheeeeee, so fun.

more packing all yesterday. i have too much stuff. the burdens of being a packrat. (Hi Nate, Hi Dave, Hi Chris, Hi Toni) It is good that we have our own little support group. I love how items get recycled through my friends. Art, plants, all this stuff came from someone or somewhere. 3d representation of how i got here. but really, it is quite obscene. I am moving into a one bedroom apartment and i could fill 2 houses. it is quite an exercise in physics to do what i do with decorating.

burtopolis the wily persian who is visiting with linda is being an 8 month old. he is attacking duck and has her hiding in corners. momo resists passively and rests quiet like a mountain on his kitty tree.

this is from thurs morning.

Marhaba, got a new pad in p-town. woohoo. i will be living near 28th and Belmont kinda near hawthorne.
excellent (maybe a little small, but with storage) funky 1951 6-plex with crazy plaid linoleum in the
kitchen. it is cute and about 2 blocks from linda's place.

in other news my appartment is pure dusty moving hell. my eyes have been itchy for a week. moving will
be good. i have a 7ft pile of boxes in my living room and i feel like i am still getting started.
stuff stuff stuff stuff. i got too much.

unemployment has made me addicted to KEXP and the online playlist that they offer. I have never been a
radio listener, but have now converted. Martha, how come it took me so long? You and your
compatirots are amazing. shit i am going to miss seattle.

so the long and the short of it is that i am moving to portland, OR next month. weird huh. seattle being homebase and all.
this move is great for many reasons.... but think of this... what would manufacturers of terror want with little portland. petty, but the thought has crossed my mind. ok... that is a background noise. the real thing that got me off my ass to move is that i got a good thing going with linda. she delights me. I have been itching to leave seattle for a while anyway. i have been tempted by LA, San Francisco and New York as possible destinations, but those have always been pipe dreams when push came to shove. heh heh. moving. i love it. upheaval. tack. jib. switch.

ran up to moms house this morning at 5:00 and had breakfast and picked up boxes. was worried about traffic coming home towards the city at 7:00 but i took 99 and cruised through wallingford and the u district on my way home. morning driving. wet street. seattle is beautiful. sad.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Week of November 1, 2001

If you allowed fate to take its raw course, you'd become a powerful magnet for both good and bad influences. Luckily, you're reading this horoscope in time to make sure fate doesn't take its raw course. I'm here to advise you to shut down any attractions you might be harboring for unwise risks or glamorous dead-ends. Don't even think of flirting with phony emotions. Avoid scary movies and put depressing friends on hold. On the other hand, open up your heart wide to creatures and creations that inspire your trust as they awaken your fascination.

Though the Hindu caste system is technically forbidden in India, long-standing custom keeps it in effect. The lowest caste is composed of the untouchables, known as the Dalits ("the oppressed") in the Hindi language. The abuse they endure is appalling. It ranges from violent attacks and hate speech to prohibitions against praying in temples and wearing shoes where the dominant castes live. A climactic event in their ongoing rebellion occurs this week, when one million Dalits formally leave the Hindu religion and convert to Buddhism in a mass ceremony in Delhi. Given your current astrological aspects, Virgo, I feel this will serve as a ripe metaphor for you. May it inspire you to abandon any idea or belief system that keeps you subjugated and disheartened.
